AGS’s philosophy is to customize a medical Spanish program for each student or group. The medical program offers a comprehensive learning experience through observational rotations in public hospitals and clinics. All attempts are made, when is possible, to tailor the clinical experience to the student’s specific medical interests. This rotation will provide eye-opening exposure to the health care system in Ecuador, especially in the poorest patient populations. Rotations are usually 3-4 hours in duration per day, 3-5 days a week depending of the student´s interests and site availability.
Medical rotations are mostly observational, but depending on your skills and Spanish knowledge, doctors will let you do some procedures and gain an interactive patient-doctor interaction.
